Coordinator – My Community Legal

My Community Legal is seeking a Coordinator to join its team. The Gold Coast Coordinator will supervise and coordinate the Robina headquarters and Southport outreach services, where My Community Legal volunteers provide free legal advice. The Gold Coast Coordinator will be assisted by the Principal Solicitor and Robina Coordinator in the management of My Community Legal’s operations, including overseeing the following branches:

  • Community Engagement
  • Student Relations
  • Practitioner Relations
  • Cultural Officer

The Gold Coast Coordinator will assist in the training and recruitment of solicitor and student volunteers for the continuing operation of My Community Legal’s free legal advice services, and office administration. The Gold Coast Coordinator will oversee the office administration, centre operations, projects and other tasks as required.

The Gold Coast Coordinator will be required to work flexible hours from Monday to Friday, and

  • Each Thursday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, and
  • Fortnightly Tuesdays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

Hours: Full-Time.

Selection criteria: 

  • Legal experience preferred (experience working within the legal industry or currently completing Bachelor of Laws/ Juris Doctor).
  • Demonstrated management or supervision experience and an ability to establish and maintain a cooperative and productive work environment with legal and non-legal volunteers.
  • Ability to provide leadership in the provision of legal assistance to disadvantaged people within the community and to manage competing demands.
  • Current drivers’ licence.
