The Best Practice and Evidence Legal Assistance Forum is pleased to present a one-day masterclass by Penny Gordon and Associates for first contact staff working in community legal centres.
The training will focus on:
- the impacts of primary trauma to aid understanding of communication styles and presentations of community members
- skills for managing challenging communication interactions from a trauma informed perspective.
- effective organisational systems and strategies for managing intake demand.
- how team members keep themselves resilient and secondary trauma.
It will also be a great opportunity for CLC staff to network and meet people in the sector undertaking similar work.
When: 31st August 2022, 9:00am – 4:30pm
Where: Brisbane CBD venue with catering provided
Who: Spaces on this masterclass are strictly limited, so only those CLC staff who are dealing with initial client enquiries will be eligible. These staff may be answering telephone enquiries, staffing help lines, undertaking reception/intake duties, filtering enquiries from the general public or through referral channels.
This masterclass is not suitable for other professional staff such as lawyers, social workers or other counselling/support roles. Registrations for this masterclass will only be accepted via EOI.
