In Conversation with Dr Chris Sarra: Pathway to Treaty

In 2022, National Reconciliation Week challenges us all to take action in our daily lives in order to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation and so make change for the benefit of all Australians.

Dr Chris Sarra will join QCOSS CEO Aimee McVeigh for an in-depth discussion of Queensland’s treaty process, as well as other reforms that could empower Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people in Queensland to influence government decision-making.

Dr Sarra is a Gurang Gurang /Taribelang man and Director-General, Department of Seniors, Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships.

Introducing a Treaty in Queensland is a key component of QCOSS’ broader commitment to self-determination and opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
