With many businesses struggling to stay afloat after floods, workers can find themselves thrown ‘overboard’ in haste. In Queensland and NSW, human resources are grappling with soggy work premises, a shortage of work, and stranded employees.

Before employers opt to terminating employees, flood-affected business should consider several options that can help track their way through troubled waters without sacrificing workers. Considered use of accrued leave entitlements, temporary stand down of employees, and alternative duties can sometimes lead everyone back to dry land unharmed.

In this webinar, Edmund Burke (Partner) and Aiyana O’Meara (Lawyer) from Holding Redlich, will cover the various options a business can look to use after a natural disaster, and provide practical tips for community legal centres advising employees faced with these issues at work.
