ABOUT THE POSITION
RAILS is recruiting immigration solicitors to be part of our team. Depending on the applicant’s experience they may be recruited as a Senior Solicitor or as a Solicitor.
- Job Title: Solicitor / Senior Solicitor
- Salary: Level 4, 5 or 6 Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award (depending on experience). $97, 300 – $111, 092 (or part – time equivalent).
- Salary sacrifice is available as RAILS has PBI status
- Contract Term: 12 months, with the possibility of extension
- Responsible to: Senior Solicitor / Legal Practice Director
- Days and Hours: Full time preferred, part time considered
- Location: South Brisbane (hybrid work arrangements considered but the role requires in person presence in RAILS office for a significant proportion of the working week.

Overview
The Solicitor role provides legal assistance to people seeking asylum, domestic violence survivors, refugees seeking family reunion and boat arriving refugees in the area of immigration and refugee law. The role is suitable for a lawyer on a restricted or an unrestricted practicing certificate. The Senior Solicitor role provides legal assistance to clients in RAILS’ core areas as well as supervising lawyers and paralegals as a Nominated Person. Both roles are of fundamental importance to the delivery of excellent legal services by RAILS and contribute to positively changing clients’ lives.
