Panapa, 61, came from New Zealand 23 years ago looking for new opportunities. Last year he had to stop working due to serious health issues. He began to struggle to pay his essential costs of living. After he fell behind on his rent and the landlord threatened to evict him, Queensland Housing referred him to YFS Legal.
YFS provided Panapa with emergency relief and helped him find a new place to live. YFS also helped Panapa through their “Money Smart” program so he could learn to better manage his finances.
Now Panapa’s confidence has improved. He is focused on taking care of his health but in the near future he would like to find some part time work and travel the world.
