Hosted by: Community Legal Centres Queensland

The Managing the Risk of Psychosocial Hazards at Work Code of Practice 2022, which is part of the Queensland Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Regulation, came into effect on 1 April 2023.

The Code is a practical guide for workplaces and a provides an opportunity for community legal centres to:

  • review and formalise existing systems for managing workloads and responding to psychosocial issues in the workplace;
  • provide training to staff and managers about their role in identifying and responding to psychosocial risks; and
  • ensure leaders and managers are across these new enforceable developments and ensuring compliance.

In this webinar, Claire Gibbs, Principal Lawyer at Maurice Blackburn‘s Gold Coast practice, will discuss the changes to the model WHS laws in Queensland including how the changes will help workplaces to manage psychosocial hazards, an overview of common hazards within the workplace, what’s new, and what to expect and look out for.
